Leo Phillips and Tasana Nagavajara bring the newest incarnation of Bangkok’s oldest orchestra, Pro Musica, to The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok! In an all Bach programme featuring both Bach double concerti (the immensely popular concerto for 2 violins and the darker, haunting concerto for violin and oboe), as well as the two most famous Brandenburg concerti (No.3 and 4), Leo Phillips will direct from the violin, and play solo alongside Tasana Nagavajara, Worapon Karnweerayothin and Araya Kunopalerk on flute, Damrih Banwittayakit on Oboe, and Thailand’s rising young star Pitchayapa Lueangtawikit.

About The Artist

     The Orfeo Trio was formed in 2012 in Wichita, Kansas where they began their career as the official Piano Trio of the Wichita State University College of Fine Arts, School of Music. The three members of the Orfeo Trio are active performers with considerable chamber music experience.Cellist Leonid Shukaev is a founding member of the St. Petersburg String Quartet, the Quartet-in-Residence at Wichita State University. Their rise to fame has included a Grammy nomination, "Best Record" honors in both Stereo Review and Gramophone, an opening night performance at Mostly Mozart at Lincoln Center, a five-year residency at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and hundreds of concerts on many of North America, Europe and Asia's most prestigious series and festivals. Maxine plays Mozart in Bangkok
On Wednesday, March 26th, 2014 - 7 pm. at Siam Society

     Siam Society and Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Music present “Maxine plays Mozart” — an evening of classical music featuring violinist Maxine Kuo from New York on March 26 at 7pm.

     The ‘Maxine plays Mozart’ concert will be held at Siam Society on March 26 at 7pm. This is the first time she will perform in Thailand, alongside many famous local musicians including Athiya Voravijitrapun on violin, Tasana Nagavajara on viola, Kittikhun Sodprasert on violoncello, Damrih Banwittayakit on oboe, Worapol Karnweerayothin on flute and Yos Vaneesorn on the clarinet. 

     The evening programme will include Mozart’s Oboe Quartet In F-Major, K 370; Flute Quartet In D-Major, K 285 and Clarinet Quintet In A-Major, K 581.
     Maxine won the grand prize from the “Kingsville International Competition” in 2004. She graduated from Juilliard School where she received both the bachelor and master of music degrees.
